My Services

Pink Skirt
Individual Therapy

I work with adults encountering problems with chronic depression, anxiety, conflicted relationships, trauma-related stress, and various adjustment difficulties.

I offer weekly therapy to help people deal with current stressors in their lives. For attachment-impaired or personality-related concerns, I recommend more intensive therapy two or more weekly sessions.

Couple in a Kitchen
Couple Therapy

I work with couples who get stuck in their relationship. I provide a space to help you and your partner listen to each other, understand the interaction pattern, build communication skills, and reconnect with each other.

I recommend a 90-minute couple session once a week, as well as a 60-minute session if it fits your needs better.

Family Therapy

Families face different issues at different stages of the family life cycle, especially during transitions such as the birth of a baby, migration, family reorganization, and adolescence. I can help your family adjust and adapt to the new stage.  I will pay special attention to your communication patterns, family history, hierarchies & interpersonal boundaries.

I recommend a 90-minute family session once a week, as well as a 60-minute session if it fits your needs better.

Psychotherapy Session
Child and Adolescent
(above 6 years old)

Adolescence is a key stage for identity formation, as children explore their goals, values, independence, and want to know “who am I”. This process often leads to adolescents becoming sensitive and impulsive, as well as friction and conflict within the family.

Balancing closeness and individuality in parent-child relationships is crucial. Combining individual and family/parents’ sessions can help parents support their children effectively.

My Specialties and Interests

Flower Shadow
Personality Concerns

If you keep running into the same problems over and over again—like conflicts with people, love relationship issues, mood swings, or feeling down about yourself—and you're interested in digging into the emotions, thoughts, and patterns behind these issues, understanding where you come from and who you are, then a long-term exploratory therapy might be just right for you.

Let us work together to help you tackle those deeper personality issues.

White Theme Bouquet
Narcissistic and Borderline Conditions

Perhaps you're grappling with aspects of narcissism, battling a strong need for approval, and oscillating between feelings of superiority and inferiority, all of which can have an impact on your relationships and career.

Or perhaps you grapple with deep insecurities in your relationships, yearning for closeness yet finding yourself withdrawing, leading to a cycle of intense involvement and detachment that leaves you feeling overwhelmed.

The primary aim of counseling will be to help you establish a stable sense of self and others, fostering stable and fulfilling relationships.

Disconnected  Relationship

Underneath the calm surface, you find your relationship has lost that special connection. You begin to feel the distance in your hearts, and day by day, life seems to become a flavorless routine. What was once intimate now feels unfamiliar, and communication between you decreases, replaced by subtle neglect, criticism, and contempt, causing the distance between you to grow.

I hope to explore with you what obstacles have formed in your relationship, and to rediscover the warmth and intimacy between you.

Dumplings
Procrastination

When you find yourself constantly procrastinating tasks, even those that are incredibly important, you may have already realized the trouble procrastination brings-pressure, frustration, or even self-blame, but find yourself trapped in a seemingly inescapable cycle. It's not just about time management; it could be an expression of deeper inner conflicts that need understanding.

I am willing to explore with you and help you regain control of your life.

My Perspective

I will work with you in an integrative way.

I strive to provide you with a safe environment in the hope that you will be free to explore your thoughts, feelings, and desires, gain greater awareness of yourself, and understand what is holding you back so that you can make meaningful changes and be free to pursue the life you want.

  • Psychoanalytic Psychodynamic

  • Attachment Based

  • Systemic Perspective

  • Transference Focused Psychotherapy

I work from a psychodynamic psychotherapy perspective, which focuses on the "unconscious mind" and "repetitive cycles of emotional/interpersonal/behavioral/psychological patterns”.

I work from an attachment theory perspective, which states that people's interpersonal patterns and self-images are influenced by early attachment figures, and reflected in their current life.

I work from a systemic perspective, which pays attention to the important role of culture, social and family factors in a person's childhood and in daily life. I respect multiculturalism, oppose any form of discrimination and recognize the importance of one's cultural identity.

I also work from the perspective of Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). TFP is an evidence-based therapy that works to improve an individual's personality structure, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Narcissistic Personality, as well as other personalities. Work is usually done 2/week for 2-4 years. I have been working under the supervision of TFP founder Dr. Otto Kernberg since 2017.
